Hayley is an Associate with Mathews Dinsdale’s Calgary office. She practises a broad range of workplace law and works with both unionized and non-unionized employers. Hayley’s practice includes certification and collective bargaining, workplace investigations, wrongful dismissals, human rights grievances, employment standards, workplace policies and practices, and occupational health and safety issues. Hayley represents employers before labour arbitrators, the Alberta Labour Relations Board, the Alberta Human Rights Commission, and the Courts.
Hayley completed her Juris Doctor at the University of Calgary in 2018. While in law school, Hayley chaired Calgary Women Studying Law Association (CWSLA), which focuses on educating, developing, and connecting female lawyers in the community. She also volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada. Currently, Hayley serves as the Co-Chair of the Canadian Bar Association Articling Students (Southern Alberta Section), as a volunteer member of the Planning Committee for Alberta Lawyers Assistance Society (ASSIST), and as an Executive of the Smith Business Club (Calgary branch). Hayley also continues to mentor through CWSLA and various alumni associations.
Prior to law school, Hayley earned an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University, where she served as Speakers Coordinator for Queen’s Women in Leadership, as a singer for Queen’s Commerce Performing Artists, and volunteered with local kindergarten students through Commerce Kids. During her undergraduate degree, Hayley gained work experience in finance, marketing, business development, and oil and gas in Calgary and Toronto. Outside of work, Hayley’s interests include music, travel, the Calgary Flames, and skiing or hiking in the Rockies.
