As a founding member of the Labour Specialty Committee of the Law Society of Upper Canada, Paula has been a major presence in the labour law community for decades. Her expertise in the increasingly pressing areas of workplace violence and harassment is highly valued by employers. Paula regularly acts as both advisor and spokesperson for employers during collective bargaining and appears before various administrative tribunals. She practices in all areas of employment law and human rights – providing strategic and practical advice to clients in both the private and public sectors. As well, she conducts independent third party investigations of human rights complaints and those pursuant to the Occupational Health and Safety Act. She also provides proactive training for employers, supervisors and employees in these and other areas, such as absenteeism management, the duty to accommodate and other human rights related topics.
