Kris joined Mathews Dinsdale as an Associate in January 2015. He currently practices in a wide range of workplace law areas, including human rights, privacy, workers’ compensation and workplace safety, discipline and dismissal matters, employment and consulting agreements and labour relations. Kris provides employers with strategic and timely advice, assisting them with understanding the legal rights, risks and obligations pertaining to their workplaces.
Before joining Mathews Dinsdale, Kris practiced at a leading Calgary labour and employment boutique and then with an international, full service firm in its labour and employment department after the two firms merged. Prior to relocating to Alberta in 2009, Kris completed his Articles at a full service firm in Cambridge, Ontario. Kris earned an LL.B. degree from the Faculty of Law at the University of Western Ontario after earning his BA. (Honors) with Distinction in English combined with political science from the same institution.
Kris has been an executive member of the Canadian Bar Association Labour and Employment Law – Alberta South Section since 2012, currently serving in the position of Vice-Chair. While attending law school, Kris received the Dr. Allison H. Johnson Award for top standing in Jurisprudence.
